… problem statement
Statistics show that South African Health care facilities currently produce approximately 2 million tons of waste every year. Some of the waste produced is less hazardous and as a result very easy to deal with, such as cardboards and left over food etc, while other waste is hazardous, dangerous and not so easy to deal with.
Although a priority of these facilities is to provide quality healthcare to their patients, acknowledgeable, the responsibility to properly manage the waste produced in the process also lies with them. This then results in these facilities having to consider acceptable measures to manage the waste they produce. At South African Waste Management Corporation (SAWMC) we partner with healthcare providers in the provision of acceptable integrated waste management solutions. |
